Captain America Review

Captain America’s brave New World movie is supposed to be the start of a new chapter for Marvel. But how good was the movie, and was this a good start to phase 6 of Marvel’s upcoming films?

With the movie being released on Feb. 14th,  lots of hype surrounded it. The movie was looking to be a good one. The film is about Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, and his journey to becoming Captain America and the challenges he has to face as the new “Cap.” He encounters his first real villain in Red Hulk played by Harrison Ford, and it was overall an okay movie.

The movie was a 6.5 out of 10. As the movie was just rushed, Marvel could’ve made this movie better by making it longer, instead of trying to put so much into one film. They could’ve changed the fact that it took Captain America with no super human serum 10 minutes to beat one of Marvel’s best villains, Red Hulk. . There could’ve been an original green Hulk appearance in the film, and we get a Hulk vs red Hulk showdown, something to get fans wanting to jump out of their seats in excitement.

The pros of the movie would be the introduction of the new Falcon played by actor Danny Ramierz, the dedication that Sam plays, to stick to what the previous Captain America did, which was fight for what you believe in and for what’s right. He did great with representing what Captain America stands for. The movie also did well in bringing back villain Samuel Stern, played by Tim Blake Nelson.

While the movie has gained very mixed reviews, the movie has received a B minus according to CinemaScore and a 3/5 on PostTraK, which are the lowest scores ever for a MCU movie. It also has received a 50% Rotten Tomato rating, placing it amongst the worst Marvel films ever. The box office numbers are another way we can see a movie’s success. For this movie during the opening weekend, the film opened to $192 million worldwide. During the second weekend ,the film recorded a significant 68% drop at the box office.

With all being said and done,Captain America :Brave New World was reasonably one of the worst MCU films to be made. With this being the start of phase 6 of Marvel’s plan, can Marvel make up for the films they’ve made and come out with some heat?
