In Unified Soccer, teams are composed of both general education students (partners) and students in the special education program (peers).
There are two levels in these competitions, separating higher and lower levels of play, which allows everyone to compete and have fun at their level.
The White team, coached by Brian Garland, competes at a lower, but still competitive level, while the Red team, also coached by Garland, competes at a higher level.
On the day of the tournament, both teams played two games.
The White team claimed first place with a 5-1 victory over Andrew and a 4-3 win over Eisenhower in the championship game.
In the first game, goals were scored by Gigi Bucci, Anaya McCoy and Marco Agting, with Nehemiah Richardson scoring twice. In the championship, Richardson and Evan McNeil each scored a goal while Agting netted two.
The Red team finished third after losing their first game 3-2 to Walter Payton but bounced back to win 5-4 in the third-place game against Thornton. In the loss to Walter Payton, partners Annelise Lathan and Quinn Michel each scored a goal. In the third-place match, Kamarion Mason, Joseph Neal and Conner Peterson each scored a goal, with Auctaveon Wilson adding two goals.
