Tyler The Creator dropped a new album on July 21 called “Don’t Tap The Glass.” There are a total of 10 songs in the album. Due to it just coming out, there isn’t a top song right now, however, there is a fan favorite named, “Big Poe.” 

This may be a little controversial, but I personally don’t really like the song. Don’t get me wrong, it is still catchy and it has a good beat, but I wouldn’t say it is my favorite. My current favorite songs are, “Sugar On My Tongue” and “I’ll Take Care Of You.”

The song “Sugar On My Tongue” is extremely trendy on Tiktok and Instagram due to people using these songs for edits and fan videos. 

A part of the Sugar On My tongue song is trending currently right now, but the beat is what made me like the song. I know it is overused and repetitive, but I like the way he wrote the song and how the beat makes it angelic. I like the tone and how it made me feel while I listened to it. In general I just always had a good vibe while I listened to it.

The thing that makes this album more interesting is that he never announced that he was dropping the album until the night before he was releasing it and Chromakopia was dropped on the 21st of Dec. exactly nine months and on the same day that Don’t Tap The Glass got dropped .

People online were shocked at how early he dropped the new album, but I was more excited to listen to the songs and see how they were different from the songs in the Chromakopia album from last year.

I think that even though the album may have been a little rushed I think it turned out fantastic. I like the majority of the songs and I think that they all have a good tone and all have a pretty good rhythm.

Curtin people in other generations feel that lyrics or songs just don’t connect to them, however, I feel like the song connects my generation and we can talk to each other about these songs. The way his songs sound feels like I can roll down my car windows and listen to the songs on the speaker with my friends on a warm summer day.

The reason why I wanted to tell everyone about this new album is because teenagers around my age like strong and rhythmic songs that have a good vibe that give them confidence. If anyone has stayed this long so far try out some of his songs. I would say start off with some of his original songs such as “See You Again” or “Flower Boy”.

I used to not be the biggest fan of Tyler until I listened to “See You Again” about two years ago and started to slowly listen to his songs. Once I listened to “See You Again” I felt so calm and I never felt so relieved that I found a creator that I would listen to every single day. 

 I’m excited to see what he produces in the future. Again, I wasn’t the biggest fan of Tyler but with music like this, I’m more interested.
