After struggling with accepting my skin color, I gained the confidence I needed to finally talk about it. I recently pitched an idea to MTV.com to publish an article about my experience. Well, they loved it and I was assigned to write the article. I hope that my article encourages other black women to accept their pretty brown skin that is “golden when it is hit by the sun, the skin that sparkles when tickled by the snow” is a great quality to have.
