Just nine days after the election, A Tribe Called Quest dropped one of the most politically influential albums of the year. This band has not dropped an album since Nov. 1, 1998. The features in this album include: Andre 3000, Kendrick Lamar, Anderson Paak, Kanye West, and more. The single, “We the People,” hits at America’s deep rooted racism and kills Trump’s whole campaign. During the first line of the song Q-Tip says, “We don’t believe you cause ‘we the people’, are you still here in the rear we don’t need you.” Listening to this album made me think, dance and want to educate myself. This verse exposes the issues we have in our country. I would say that this is the best album of this year by far. I would listen to this album if you don’t like Trump, enjoy rap and like 90’s rap. This long anticipated album dropped at the perfect time and will be a great present for your soul during this Christmas season.
