Turnabout twirls this weekend!

Turnabout twirls this weekend!

Are you ready to dance, sing, eat and have fun? Well, H-F’s Turnabout is just around the corner. It is taking place on Feb. 17th, 2024. The cost of the ticket is 50$ for everyone.

Turnabout is a dance to go to with friends or your partner, but the twist is that the girl has to ask the boy.

The popular trend TikTok is for girls to make posters and gift baskets for their significant other that they are asking.

To get some inspiration on how to ask someone, you can make a poster, make a candy or gift basket, ask through text or call or take them out on a date then pop the big question!

You can also check out TikTok for more ideas or on pinterest. In addition, you can base the basket off of the theme.

The planning committee chose the theme ‘Under the Northern Lights’ to incorporate winter into the dance along with something more unique than past themes. According to sophomore class president Ruby Zeman, “We decorate the banquet hall with colored lights and wintery decorations to display the winter theme. The banquet will have two photo mirror booths.

We are just finalizing a few things like the photo mirror backdrop, but everything else is set.”

The event’s decoration is its venue: Tuscany Falls. Alyssa Marassa, the interior design, clothing instructor teacher and lead of the committee replied, “It is a formal, winter dance at Tuscany Falls in Mokena. The banquet has a beautiful ballroom with decorations and amazing food selections to choose from.”

To add to the fancy atmosphere of Tuscany Falls, the student government plans to add to their own flair. “We chose ‘Under the Northern Lights’ to incorporate winter into the dance along with something more unique than past themes. We plan to decorate the banquet hall with colored lights and wintery decorations to display the winter theme,” Zeman said.

Over the years, the planning committee has kept the routine of turnabout the same. “We sell the same amount of tickets every year. The location has been the same. We change the themes every year, last year was Valentine’s Day Dream,” Marassa said.
