Here are some books for you to read over the break.
Perhaps you know the story of “The Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens. Maybe have read the book, watched the movie, or watched the Mickey Mouse version, or have seen the play of the story, but here is a simple story of The Christmas Carol.
In the Christmas Carol the protagonist Ebenezer Scrooge is against Christmas. All he wants to do is work and not celebrate any holidays. While he is trying to sleep at night he is with the Grim Reaper and he has to go through the past, present and future. During this process of going through these points in time in his life. By the end of the story he is a kinder and gentler man than what he was before.
You should read this because it is a holiday classic and it is a good story you can read. You can read this to a group of children and also watch the movie with them too. This book is a great book to read around the Christmas holiday.
Another book that I would recommend is “I Will Always Write Back: How One Letter Changes Two Lives” by Caitlin Alifirenka, Martin Ganda and Liz Welch.
This story is about two penpals that live across the world Caitlin lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and her penpal Martin who lives in Zimbabwe. They started sending letters to each other and had a strong relationship even though they lived thousands of miles away. Throughout the years they still talked to each other because they had interest in each other’s lives. They did end up seeing each other and became the bestest of friends ever.
You should read this book if you are really interested in autobiographies. This autobiography is really good to read because it shows the life of two different people with two different perspectives and reading this is very heartwarming and this is just a fun book to read anytime of the year so I would recommend reading this book over the holiday.
The final book that I will recommend to read over break is called “Trapped” by Michael Northrop.
This book is about children that are trapped in their high school. No one is there to help them and every adult figure is not in the building. There are only seven students in their history class. The protagonist Scotty will figure out how to escape the school and what they are going to do while they are trapped in there.
I would read this book over the holiday because the setting is in winter and I think it would be nice for the reader to read this book because it will fit the setting and this book is really good to read if you are interested in people getting trapped in the scenarios and have to find a way to escape it.
