On a Friday in 2025, lovers worldwide will unite for a celebratory holiday. Flowers are purchased, letters are exchanged and written, chocolates are chowed down upon and love permeates the air of the Windy City. Treating your partner to exclusive occasions is always special whenever Valentine’s Day comes around.
Here are some date ideas to implement while in Chicago to celebrate on the 14th.
One of the first options when celebrating with your loved ones is ice skating! At Millennium Park, the rink offers free skating lessons sponsored by the Millennium Park Foundation and the Chicago Youth Foundation. The admission is free, but reservations are required.
As you skate and glide under the Michigan Avenue lights and sway your way through the Millennium Park Ice Rink, you can also marvel at The Bean scenically overshadowing the rink as one of the main proponents of Chicago tradition.
Our next option is the Museum of Ice Cream! Located in the Tribune Tower on North Michigan Avenue, the restaurant offers “frozen delights” and “fun interactive games about ice cream.”
They even have hotdog-shaped ice cream! General admissions run from $24-27, on Valentine’s Day, prices go up to $30-33.
This restaurant features an immersive museum where you can play like a child while simultaneously enjoying their various flavors, ranging from cookies and cream, homemade vanilla, dutch chocolate, strawberry, mint chocolate chip and banana pudding, along with a special Sprinkle Pool Sundae.
There are 14 installations of interactive fun that range from putt-putt (golf), diving into a pool filled with sprinkles, an interactive train, magnets where you can create inspirational, goofy or loving messages, a carnival-themed ride stand and much more.
Our next and last attraction is a tour of wit and intellect. The Escape Game Chicago is a 60-minute experience where you and your team are faced with multiple puzzles and have to find and solve clues to beat the clock!
The five themes that you can experience while participating in the Escape Game are the California-themed Gold Rush, Special Ops, Mysterious Market, where you take on the persona of secret agents, Prison Break, where you play a rebellious inmate who escapes from a warden and his legion of guards and Mars and the Heist, where you track down an illustrious art thief.
This escape room requires elite communication, teamwork and a heightened sense of wit. It takes around 1-2 hours to complete, and the cost ranges from $35 to 40.
Multiple time slots to schedule the escape room are available from morning to evening. Enjoy yourself and experience witty plans and puzzles with your partner by escaping the Escape Room!
This Valentine’s Day, make sure to check out these recommendations and have a wonderful date in Chicago!
