Black Excellence Today

Issa Rae

She created a new hit HBO show, Insecure, which promotes black excellence. In an interview with Good Morning America, Rae explained that she wanted to create a show that made normal, black individuals a regular thing.

Chance the Rapper

Catching his big break with music didn’t stop Chancelor Bennett. According to XXL, Bennett has been using his popularity to give back to Chicago by raising $100,000 for Chicago Public Schools.
He also participates in campaigns to stop Chicago gun violence, started Open-Mic nights to showcase Chicago artists, and gave 1,000 coats to homeless people.
Bennett has shown that fame can help a lot of people, and he is making Chicago into a more progressive city.

Donald Glover
