Kiss your frogs and dance the night away at Turnabout

Dance the night away!
Dance the night away!

On Jan. 31, H-F hosted the Turnabout dance at the Tuscany Falls Banquet in Mokena, IL from seven to 10.

The theme for the dance is Night In the Bayou, inspired by the popular Disney movie “The Princess and the Frog.” Kennedy Rice, a sophomore leader in Student Government at H-F said, “Expect a lot of gold and greens, it is like swamp and [inspired by] Princess And The Frog.”

She continues with explaining how students should expect good music, food and dressed up students throughout the night.

“I want to see a lot of purple and green this year, because when you think of Princess And The Frog you think of green and gold but I think purple really belongs in Louisiana and maybe pink because of Princess Tiana’s friend Lottie,” said Rice.

Rice expressed her dissatisfaction with the fact that the dance moved to Jan. 31st instead of Feb. 15th, “I don’t know why [they moved it]. I would think it is a Valentine’s Day dance since it is a February dance. I don’t understand why it was pushed so early,” She stated.

Corinne Zimmerman, the Sponsor for the turnabout dance, helped bring some insight that some of the students that will be going to the dance may want to know. “We are hoping that there will be about 500 students [attending the dance],” said Zimmerman.

“The theme is a little different, [it’s] Night In the Bayou, so we’re kinda leaning in New Orleans and Princess of the Frog.” continued
