This summer, many seniors will be going to local hang out spots and events this upcoming summer in Chicago, Homewood and Flossmoor.
There are many places to go this summer, whether it’s just by themselves or with a friend, a group of friends or family.
According to the Chicago Tribune, one place class of 2026 is going to is Navy Pier. It is a great place to go by yourself or with a group.
Navy Pier has boats that you can get on and sail on Lake Michigan.
Navy Pier does firework shows every wednesday and friday. Though, a bigger event that people are attending in the summer is for the fourth of July.
Offshore Rooftop In Chicago is located at the far East end of Navy Pier. Offshore Rooftop contains many diverse foods like wings, burgers, truffle fries, salads, seafood, sandwiches, a large variety of drinks and many desserts.
If you are looking for a calmer experience, a popular place is Art 4 Soul Pottery, located in Homewood. According to their website, this is a nice cozy place where you have instructors teach you how to do pottery.
You can also throw parties and the shop is open all 7 days of the week.
You can also buy soaps, jewelry, plants, candles and signs made by their company.
The Izaak Walton Preserve is also a nice calm hangout spot, whether it’s by yourself or with friends or family.
You could go on a walk, journal, just sit by yourself and think, have a picnic, or feed the ducks and birds.
Overall, this huge park is very peaceful and serene for when you want to hang out or just clear your mind.
If you are looking for more of an extreme amusement setting, K1 Speed Go Cart is a fun indoor go-to place for teens.
K1 Speed Go-Kart Racing is more than just go-karting. They also have arcade games, pool tables and the Paddock Lounge Café for food and drinks.
You can also throw birthday parties or group parties and ask for caterers.
If you are in the mood for more architecture, landscape design and art type of setting, you should give Millennium Park a try. You can walk around for hours, shop, eat, attend a concert at Jay Pritzker Pavilion, visit Maggie Daley Park,visit the Chicago Cultural Center and bring a change of clothes if you want to experience the Crown Fountain.
