H-F isn’t just a place for learning during the academic year, it is also a place for activity and opportunity during the summer months.

These summer programs empower students to discover their passions, expand their horizons and thrive both inside and outside of the classroom.

From STEM camps to arts workshops, there is something for everyone here at H-F.

In terms of academics, H-F offers courses such as Geometry, Social science and Chemistry classes.

These courses are challenging and fast-paced.

Chemistry is a required course designed for students who have a strong foundation in science and are looking to challenge themselves with a more advanced course.

“Current H-F students are able to take either a Social Science class,  an Honors Chemistry or Geometry class. By doing so, they open up a period in their fall schedule, giving them an opportunity to take an extra elective, or to take advanced classes in either math or science,”  Summer school administrator Cindy Hayes said. “This also benefits those students who are interested in graduating early.”

Additionally, excelling in these courses can also open up opportunities for future academic and career success in STEM fields.

H-F also offers a variety of fine arts courses for students who are interested in exploring their creative side, such as radio practicum, where students can gain hands-on experience in broadcasting and develop skills in communication and media production.

“Radio Practicum is designed to familiarize students with the operations of WHFH, ” said H-F fine arts program “Students will complete special projects for the Viking Broadcast Company and attend to the daily responsibilities of running a radio station.”

In addition to that fine arts course, there is also a summer theater program available. Students who sign up for the program perform and work on the technical aspects of the production, as well as participate in the staging of a full-scale children’s play.

Students can also explore their creativity through dance and music, expressing themselves in unique ways.

The summer dance program offers a variety of styles and techniques for students to explore, allowing them to enhance their skills and express themselves through movement.

You will be able to learn from people that you know like former professional dancers and members of the H-F Dance Team. Throughout the camp you will study many techniques such as jazz, ballet, and hip-hop.

There are also sports camps that will help improve physical fitness and teamwork skills. These camps offer a fun and challenging environment for athletes to develop their abilities and grow as individuals.

H-F also offers the Athletic Training Aides camp.

This allows aides to receive instructions that will allow them to function in a capacity that enables them to assist the Athletic Trainers with the care of the student-athletes.

This will potentially raise the standard of health care provided to the student-athletes by the Training Department, improve the efficiency of the Athletic Training Room, resulting in less practice and game time loss by the student-athletes and allow the Athletic Trainers to focus on injury evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation.

With opportunities like these everyone will be able to explore careers, get ahead in school and gain real-world experience.
